This story is about a man named Jonah who loved God. One day, God told Jonah to go to a city called Nineveh to tell the people to stop doing bad things. But Jonah was scared and didn’t want to go, so he ran away and got on a ship sailing the other way. Suddenly, a big storm hit the sea, and everyone on the boat was terrified. Jonah knew the storm was because he didn’t listen to God, so he told the sailors to throw him into the water. When they did, the storm stopped—and God sent a huge fish to swallow Jonah! Jonah stayed inside the fish for three days and nights, praying and saying sorry to God. God forgave him, and the fish safely spit him out on land.
This story teaches us that even when we make mistakes or run away from doing the right thing, God still loves us and gives us another chance.
